Baby Love

I think I am teaching my grand baby well. Every time I lay out a quilt she helps me straighten it.  Sometimes When I do not feel like measuring I ask her to lay down on it to see if big enough... Well, now when I lay a quilt out she says " lay on it" and helps herself.

This is the hexie quilt I was hand quilting,it is now finished.  The kaleidoscope quilt is now finished and been tested.

Thank you for visiting,I must get back to sewing the grand baby some more quilts to test.
Have a great day,Amy

Lazy Monday

Today is dreary and slow. I have been wanting to try a kaleidoscope and today seemed like the day to try. While the grand baby was napping I got to cutting and piecing. When my grand daughter woke up from her nap saying "pretty Staws-stars" ... I think this will be her throw quilt.

March Wip's

Good day! I know this is April, but I am finishing up WIP's for March. I am linking up at Freshly Pieced. I have found a lot of inspiration from the projects the ladies have going on. Plus it helps me realize I am not the only one with more than 3-8 projects going at once.
I must tell you the last few weeks I have been sucked in by triangles and hexagons. The best way for me to try out something new is a baby quilt. The first quilt is my half hexagons done out of 2.5" strips. One of my daughter's friends is expecting and will find out today if boy or girl, If she is having a girl she will get this..

I decided to make another triangle quilt. This time I pulled a good bit of my Easter fabrics and pastels.

My daughters are fabric enablers.. I took one of my daughters with me to LQS and she picked these fabrics for a second quilt for herself.

I am also working on another hexagon quilt. The pattern is Natures Gem on Moda Bake Shop.

Thank you for stopping by. And stop over and see some great WIP's. have a great day! Amy

Straight Line Quilting

I have decided it is time to get this quilted. I started it last year and left it sitting to get other things done. I was trying the one seam flying geese tutorial.

I can not wait to wash it and get it all crinkly. All I have left to do is the binding, which will probably be tomorrow.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a  great weekend.Amy

In love with 60' triangles

I have been seeing tons of triangle quilts on Pinterest and am hooked. I also love how they make the hexagon which I love them also.I have had this stack of boyish prints waiting to be used. and I know a little man that could use a new quilt.

I know it is not done, but the recipient has come to see how comfy his new quilt will be.

I think he likes it! now to get it finished and layered for quilting.I thought the quilt needed a "beach ball" on the back.
 Have a great day! Amy

WIP#13

Today I am linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced. I am working on 2 hexagon quilts. For some reason I am addicted to 60' triangles and hexagons.

I am also planning a triangle quilt for a little boy.

I have been seeing all the triangle quilts and just love the simple piecing of them. I have also managed to get 2 borders on my Vintage Modern quilt.
Thank you for stopping by. Happy stitching,Amy

WIP,

Today I am linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.com. It helps to know I am not the only one with quite a few WIP's. My first WIP is a baby quilt, I am doing a controlled scrappy trip around the world.

The second WIP is a spiderweb quilt, I have been making these blocks for over a year.. it is an easy leader and ender project.. it was supposed to help get scraps under control. But,I think the scrap pile keeps growing.

My grandbaby was helping me while I was sewing the other day.. she loves the strips.

The third quilt is another baby quilt. I used the pattern from Moda Bake Shop,it is called Wiggly Whimsy.

I just love baby quilts!

A Few Goodies

I have been working on a few more projects, trying to get them done to be mailed ASAP. First is a pillow, it was originally going to be used as a wall hanging.. but somehow the other fabrics ran away in my storage bin. So, Why not improvise and make a pillow?

I love these dresden table mats.
Well, I better get back to the sewing machine before the needle cools off:) thank you for visiting and Merry Christmas.
